Kaliisizo Town Council Chairperson (Mayor) Richard Sande Ntambaazi handing over the official handover report to the Town Clerk, Resty Nabatanzi, marking the end of his 20-year tenure.

Residents and leaders in Kaliisizo Town Council, Kyotera District, have praised the long-serving chairperson, Richard Sande Ntambaazi, for what they describe as dedicated and impactful service spanning two decades.

Ntambaazi, who has served as the Kaliisizo Town Council Chairperson since 2006, officially handed over office to the Town Clerk on Tuesday after completing 20 years in leadership. His departure follows his decision to retire from active politics.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Ntambaazi expressed gratitude to the people of Kaliisizo for the trust and support extended to him throughout his tenure.

“I thank the people of Kaliisizo for the love and cooperation they have shown me over the past 20 years as I served them,” he said.

He highlighted key achievements during his leadership, noting significant progress in infrastructure development, especially the expansion and maintenance of road networks across nearly all parts of Kaliisizo.

He also pointed to improvements in the education sector as part of his legacy.

However, Ntambaazi acknowledged that his tenure was not without challenges. He cited issues such as public criticism, inadequate waste management due to increasing garbage volumes, and limited local revenue collection as some of the difficulties he faced.

He urged his successor to remain grounded, work closely with technical teams, and maintain collaboration with stakeholders in order to sustain service delivery to the community.

The Town Clerk of Kaliisizo Town Council, Resty Nabatanzi, commended Ntambaazi for his leadership style, describing him as a unifying figure and a committed servant who consistently worked for the good of the town.

Other local leaders also commended Ntambaazi, praising his humility and calling for continued leadership that prioritises community needs.

Geoffrey Sasa, the newly elected Chairperson (LCIII) of Kaliisizo Town Council and a member of the National Unity Platform (NUP), pledged to build on the foundation laid by his predecessor. He committed to improving sanitation, strengthening security, and enhancing service delivery across the town.
