Pictorial: Youth Activists Detained for Opposing EACOP

Several youth activists from XR-Justice Movement Uganda were arrested today while marching to deliver a petition to Speaker Anita Among, protesting the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP).

Police blocked their path, forcefully detaining them before they could reach Parliament. This comes just weeks after another group was arrested for opposing environmental destruction.
