Christians have been advised to set achievable targets and also avoid divisions as they plan for the new year.

Last night and today, Christians flocked to churches and various grounds to thank God for enabling them to pass through 2024 and present him with the prayer requests for 2025.

New Year’s Fireworks: Police Issues Comprehensive Guidelines, Over 1900 Sites Cleared

December 28, 2023

While leading a multitude of congregant crossover to the year, the Senior Pastor for Mt. Lebanon Church-Mukono, Samuel Lwandasa asked born-again Christians to work together if they are to achieve greater things in all aspects of life this year.

Pastor Lwandasa, also the President of Love, Peace and Unity Pastors’ Destiny Forum Uganda noted attacking one another derails the body of Christ and therefore such should be left in the past year.

The guest preachers from India led Pastor Sion Rajkumar and Veerabhadra Rao blessed the congregation.

Also, the Senior Pastor United Christian Centre-UCC Mukono reflected on the last year saying Christians faced several challenges that include poverty, disease outbreaks, thefts, domestic violence among others.

However, he asked Christians to thank God for enabling them to overcome the challenges and ask them to be strong in the new year.

He also advised Christians to set solid but achievable targets in the new year and focus on achieving them.

Besides ushering in the year in spiritual devotion, several places in Mukono and across the country ushered in the year joy and generosity in a spectacular fireworks display that lit up the night sky, eliciting cheers and applause from the crowd.
