Police in Mukono have embarked on a search for a man identified by one name of Ismah suspected to have killed his girlfriend and locked the body in an apartment at Nsambwe ‘A’ in Mukono Municipality.
The deceased has been identified as Rehamah Tebandeke, a private surveyor working mainly in Jinja City.
His body has been discovered by his brother, Faizo Jjuuko who claims to have been notified by the reported boyfriend.
Jjuuko says received a telephone call from Ismah who introduced himself as the boyfriend to the deceased before directing him to the apartment where the deceased’s body had been locked.
“He called me at around 10am and told me Rehamah had died. He directed me to his apartment where he had locked the body and I thought it was a joke. He later directed me to another place where he had left the keys. After picking them, I opened the room and to my shock, I found the body laid on the bed covered with a bed sheet.” Jjuuko says.

Alex Mugalula, a bodaboda rider at Mukono town, says he took the deceased to the apartment last night but she seemed much healthier.
According to him, it was not the first time taking her there, he explains that several times she could come and stay at his brother’s home located at Ntawo and several times could call him for bodaboda services to the boyfriend’s place.
The Defense Secretary, Christopher Biddo, says the prime suspect is not much known to them as the local council. He notes that they have learnt from the landlord that he is a builder who makes long distance trips and spends days without being at home.
Mukono Divisional Police Commander, Annabella Nyinamahoro says they have started on the hunt for the purported boyfriend to assist them in investigations.
“The incident leaves a lot of questions answered, why the boyfriend had to run, why he contacted the brother of the deceased instead of the neighbours, but investigations have started for an informed conclusion.” ASP Nyinamahoro says.
The body of the deceased has been taken to Mulago hospital for a postmortem. ASP Nyinamahoro says a detailed medical report shall be handed over to the family on Thursday.
