The Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has appointed Fadil Twallah as the new Secretary General of the organization, replacing David Kabanda after three years in the role.
The announcement was made by Muhoozi on his X (formerly Twitter) account, where he praised Kabanda’s contribution to the organization and welcomed Twallah to the position.
“The new General Secretary of PLU is Hon. Fadil Twallah. I will work closely with him to achieve our objectives. I thank Hon. Kabanda for his three years of excellent service. He set the standard high for the position,” Muhoozi posted.
The leadership change comes as PLU continues to expand its organizational structures and mobilization efforts across the country.
In his response, Twallah expressed gratitude for the appointment and pledged to strengthen the organization under Muhoozi’s leadership.
“I am humbled by this great opportunity bestowed upon me by my Chairman to take up this new role as General Secretary of the Patriotic League of Uganda,” Twallah said.
He pledged to serve diligently and work towards meeting the organization’s goals and expectations.
“I pledge to ensure unity, strengthen our organizational structures from top to bottom, and ensure we have the strongest organization,” he added.
Twallah’s appointment signals a new chapter for PLU as the organization seeks to consolidate its structures and increase its influence ahead of future political engagements.
