A relentless manhunt for a school patron accused of sexually abusing three P.3 pupils in Kyenjojo district has successfully concluded following his arrest, Fred Enanga, the Uganda Police Spokesperson, has confirmed.
The suspect Joash Ssali, 37, was captured from his hide-out in Bugongi village, Sheema district. Grave allegations of aggravated defilement and sodomy prompted Ssali to go into hiding and he has been eluding the authorities for over a month.
The allegations against him pertain to incidents involving three male pupils from the boarding section of Kasisi Day and Boarding Primary School.
Police in Rwenzori West and Fortportal East Division launched a manhunt for Ssali on June 12, 2023, for abusing three male pupils under his care.
The facts gathered indicate that a concerned P3 pupil reported his ordeal to his mother who informed the school authorities and later promoted police intervention.
According to Enanga, the suspect will be arraigned in court after complete investigations.
