Mukono Chairperson Cited in Witchcraft Practices, Threatening and Extorting Money

Whenever the government delays paying LC3 Chairpersons their monthly allowances force the Nakisunga sub county boss Mubrak Ssekikubo resort to tactful ways of obtaining money from his voters.

The chairperson formed a click of youths who moves from one village to another during night hours stoning people’s houses doors and roof tops disguising as spirits(juju).

In the morning hours when residents report to him about the matter, he convinces them to solicits money close to UGX5 million to facilitate a witchdoctor whom he invites to stop the tragedy and also cleanse the community.

Surprisingly, after cleansing a certain village, spirits get spotted in another village. Recently, the deal was distorted by a poor woman Justine Nakasujja whose neighbour lost a child and Ssekikubo together with the Namuyenje LCI chairperson Robinson Wampona played to believe that it died as a result of wizardry.

Ssekikubo forced Nakasujja to apologize for bringing juju that kills people, raise UGX3 million for a witch to cleanse her home promising to add on the 2 million. The deprived woman barely earns from her garden about UGX 30, 000 every month pleaded for forgiveness before she was forced to surrender part of her plot of land so that money is raised.

Her acceptance was an acknowledgement that she brought juju at the community, local leaders destroyed her house doors and windows on top of chasing her away from the village.

She run to Mukono police after realizing that the entire plot of land was put on sale, local council leaders including Ssekikubo were arrested and later released after much pleading by the district officials led by the LC5 Chairperson Andrew Ssenyonga and other NRM party leaders.

Up to now the deal remains a flop but the woman is still scared of returning at her home after receiving life threatening massages attributed to accomplice of blackmailing Ssekikubo, the community leader and an aspirant in the forthcoming elections.

While speaking to journalist after his release at Mukono police division, Ssekikubo said he invited the witchdoctor to ensure that the community regains peace and juju taken away. Damages on the house Ssekikubo said was planned by his political opponents.

Could it be a complacence?

Ssekikubo innate from Nakisunga Sub county in an extended family. Apart from the political carrier he is a property and land broker. In 2011, he openly promised to bewitch district officials for failing his plan to succeed as the district speaker after they petitioned Mukono Chief Magistrates Court protesting his identity.

Video recordings The Insight Post has managed to obtains spots Ssekikubo participating in ritual performances of cleansing the community. It is hard to prove the science behind a big snake captured at one of his father’s home located at Gamba.
