Over 5000 students from different health training schools are likely to miss sitting their final examination due to politics and internal bickering within the examining body.

The inefficiencies, intrigue and politics at the Ministry of Education forced the cancellation of examinations for students under the Uganda Allied Health Program which was set for December this year.

UGX 109.71 Billion Disbursed to School As Third Term Begins

September 18, 2023

According to the copy of the notice to sue obtained by this website served to Uganda Allied Health Examinations Board-UAHEB and the Commissioner of Health Education and Training at the Ministry of Education and Sports confirms that examinations are far from being issued this year.

M/S Nsubuga K.S and Co. Advocates acting on behalf of Advocates for Human Rights, Peace and Development-AHUPED, a body promoting students’ civil rights appeals for immediate arrangements to ensure that students write their papers or the concerned authority risks facing civil and criminal proceedings.

According to AHUPED, once a large number of students miss their final examination without clear explanations, there are far-reaching consequences which will affect their future as well as the integrity of the various health training institutions that have levied fees and taught students who now are unsure whether they will sit for examinations.

“…also aware that these various institutions have since time immemorial been admitting students for the July/August intake for Allied Health Programmes who do their exams in December of a given year; and the same happened in July/August 2022 and your offices nor government did not communicate to the various institutions if at all there were to be any changes in the calendar,” the notice reads in parts.

This website has also learned that all training institutions for the allied health program are registered, observe, follow all the necessary requirements and pass all inspections by the Ministry of Education and Sports.

These institutions deny any fault but instead the rotting rat is definitely within the specific office of UAHEB and responsible if at all the students miss the December Examinations.

Our efforts to speak to the Executive Secretary of UAHEB, Joseph Ogundowa and Commissioner Safina Musene about the matter are still unsuccessful. However this website is committed to bring to more details about every development.
