As the mobilization to celebrate the pre-birthday of Lt. Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba started in Masaka, majority thought it would only attract youths, but surprisingly senior carders in the area graced the function.
The celebration on Wednesday started with a procession which left traffic on a standstill for over two hours.
The procession started from Nyendo –Masaka-Kampala Mbarara High way and later to streets of Elgin, Hobart, Edward Avenue but also others were affected.
Rogers Buregeya, the celebration coordinator noted that they chose to organize Muhoozi’s birthday because is a friendly officer, intelligent and disciplined.
He also noted that through Muhoozi Project in Buganda, poverty is soon becoming a myth. “We are sure people are going to stop working for the stomach, save to educate children and for a better future.”
At the same celebration, the organizer managed to buy a motorcycle for one of the youth identified as Michael Ssemugga to mobilize more youths join Muhoozi project.
Francis Bbaale aka Bbaale White one of the guests applauded the organizers for the initiative but at the same time warned youths against looking for free money than working for themselves.
Faizo Ssebugwawo, the youth councillor blasted the mourners who chase away NRM people from their burial ceremonies to stop it immediately saying it is segregative.
Peter Ssenkungu encouraged team Muhoozi, Masaka chapter to keep up the good work and also spread the news from the city down to the villages.
He also appealed to them be disciplined instead of clashing and exchanging bitter words with opposition lumpen.
Ruth Komugisha, is grateful for the work done by Gen. Muhoozi recently that restored peace between Uganda and Rwanda.
The Chairperson MUTDOCS, Abdu Bunkenke asked the government to intensify creation of employment opportunities for the youth through industrialization especially most remote areas.
