Kyampisi Sub County Gombolola Internal Security Officer-GISO in Mukono District, Odismus Lukambwe is admitted at Nsambya hospital under critical condition after he was attacked together with his wife on Sunday night.
Lukambwe was intercepted by unknown thugs on his way from a drinking joint at Kabembe trading center around 11am while crossing through Kanyogoga eucalyptus forest near his home at Misombwa village in Ddundu parish.
It is allegedly said that the attackers tied a rope at each side of the road and managed to tussle down the duo from a motorcycle on which they were travelling.
Lukambwe was hacked several times on the head and also severely. Alex Lubwama, his caretaker at Nsambya hospital says the condition has not yet improved.
“He has not gained his consciousness yet but doctors have given us hope of recovery. We are just scared that the treatment process may require a lot of money we don’t have right now.” Lubwama says.
The woman was also embarrassingly assaulted and is currently admitted at St. Francis, Naggalama hospital receiving treatment and psychological support.
Police and other security operatives are still hesitant to say anything about the incident.
George Stanly Muwonge, a councillor representing Kyampisi sub county at Mukono district appeals to police to swiftly investigate the matter so as to restore coolness among residents.
“We have been experiencing cases of theft and robberies in the community but we have infrequently experienced matters that involve killings or attempts to threaten life or gruesome acts against women.” Muwonge says.
