Odismus Lukambwe, the Kyampisi Gombolola Internal Security Officer-GISO in Mukono District attacked by unknown people on Sunday night has passed on this morning at Mulago hospital.

Unknown thugs intercepted Lukambwe while returning from a drinking joint in Kabembe together with his wife around 11 pm while crossing through Kanyogoga eucalyptus forest near his home in Misombwa village in Ddundu parish.

He was rushed to Nsambya hospital under critical condition. However, his caretaker, Alex Lubwama says his family failed to raise the requested amount for operation and sought for a referral at Mulago hospital last evening.

“We were tasked look for shillings 9million for the operation were half of it was supposed to be deposited immediately but we failed. Our efforts to seek assistance from security agencies also remained fruitless up to now. We are currently standing on the community favour soliciting money to transport the body from the hospital.” Lubwama reveals.

It is alleged that Lukambwe’s attackers tied a rope across the road to slow down the motorcycle the duo was using. The assailants hacked Lukambwe severally on the head as they assaulted them.

The Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander, Luke Oweyesigyire says police has not yet identified any culprit yet but assures that investigations are still ongoing.

“The wife alleged that shillings 2million and four mobile telephones were stolen from them. Police has recovered a motorbike and one Nokia telephone at the scene.” Oweyesigyire notes.

We have established that the wife to Lukambwe is currently recovering at St. Francis Naggalama hospital where she was admitted for treatment and psychological support.

Meanwhile, community members headed George Stanly Muwonge, the representative of Kyampisi sub-county at Mukono district says they are yet to engage the family to produce final burial arrangements.
