St Mary’s College Mayenze has officially begun the third term with a special Holy Mass held on Monday, September 21, 2026, as the school community committed the new term into God’s hands and prayed for success, good performance and continued blessings throughout the term.
The Mass was celebrated by Father Simon Peter Okumu, who led students, teachers and school administrators in prayers for God’s guidance and protection. The school community prayed for a successful third term and asked for God’s grace, mercy and favour to remain with the school as learners and teachers work towards achieving their academic goals.
Special prayers were also made for the school’s Form Four and Form Six candidates, with the community asking for exceptional performance in their final examinations. The school prayed for the candidates to receive financial support, wisdom, discipline and determination as they prepare for an important stage in their education.
The prayers also focused on the future of the learners, with the school encouraging students to work hard so that they can achieve their dreams and become prominent professionals in society. Among the careers mentioned were ministers, permanent secretaries, lawyers, engineers and pilots.
Students were encouraged to take their studies seriously, read their books consistently and make good use of their time. The school leadership urged learners to remain focused, join academic teams and work together to improve their performance, with the message that hard work and discipline are key to building a bright future.
The Holy Mass was attended by the school principal, headteacher, deputy headteacher and directors of studies, alongside other members of the school community. Their presence highlighted the importance the school places on both the spiritual and academic development of its learners.
The school also recognised students who performed exceptionally well in the mock examinations. As a way of motivating them to maintain their performance, the outstanding learners were given an exemption of Shs50,000 from their third-term school fees.
The gesture was welcomed as an incentive for students to work harder and aim for better results. The school leadership encouraged all learners to use the third term as an opportunity to improve their academic performance, remain disciplined and prepare themselves for a brighter future.
With the third term now underway, St Mary’s College Mayenze is looking forward to a period of hard work, prayer and academic excellence, with the school community trusting in God’s guidance as it works to achieve its goals.
