Mark Baingana, the Deputy Resident City Commissioner for Makindye Division in Kampala, has been laid to rest at his ancestral home in Ssembabule District.
Baingana was buried on Thursday in a ceremony attended by government officials, Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), Resident City Commissioners (RCCs), local leaders, religious leaders, family members and residents.
Minister for the Presidency and Budiope West MP, Milly Babalanda, represented the government at the burial and conveyed condolences from President Yoweri Museveni, First Lady Janet Kataaha Museveni, Permanent Secretary in the Office of the President Hajji Yunus Kakande and staff of the Office of the President.
Babalanda described Baingana as a disciplined, patriotic and dedicated public servant who served the government with integrity and professionalism.
She also remembered him as a prayerful and faithful Christian who placed God at the centre of his life and work.
The Minister urged RDCs, RCCs, their deputies and assistants to continue supporting one another and serving Ugandans with integrity, describing them as the President’s representatives on the ground.
She extended condolences to Baingana’s family and prayed for strength and comfort for them during the period of mourning.
“May his soul rest in eternal peace,” Babalanda said.
Baingana’s burial brought together colleagues, government representatives and members of the community to pay their final respects to the late public servant.
