Mukono Police has arrested people power supporters demonstrating death of their colleague and also the head teacher of Merry Time Primary School in Mukono.
Mutasiga passed on at Mulago National Referral Hospital on Monday this week. He succumbed to gunshot wounds he sustained in a leg during a scuffle as police tried to arrest his neighbour last month before he was buried on Wednesday last week.
It said that he was allegedly trying to plead with police officers not to shoot a vendor who was found selling chapatti during curfew time along Mukono-Katosi Road.
People power supporters Lydia Namayengo the people power coordinator in Mukono district who has led the team saying many people have been shot and denied justice.
The protestors together with family members resolved to match to the office of the District Residents Officer Fred Bamwiine to seek justice though they have been intercepted by Mukono police and charged them with inciting violence and holding unlawful assembly.
The Mukono Municipality people power coordinator Dan Lugoloobi says police should take the blame of caring for the family of Mutasiga and educating the orphans while the mother Joyce Kizito is worried about raising children in a renatl apartment.
