She shaped countless careers and was a guiding light for many who came under her mentorship.

At the time of her passing, she had become the driving force behind Kamaama Estates, managing it with vision, grace and a sense of responsibility.

Kabasomi was born in 1942, in Myeri village in Kabarole District nestled within the verdant hills of the Toro Kingdom.

She was a cherished daughter to Chief David Kabona Adyeri of the Bamwooli clan. She was the great granddaughter of Nyakamatura, the revered ruler and chief of Bugahya County in Bunyoro- Kitara Kingdom between 1898 and 1912.

During the Funeral Mass led by Masaka Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Severus Jjumba, Kabasomi was praised for grooming many into responsible citizens, transforming the economy of Nkuke village and Narozaali parish.

“The family chose to support Narozaali Parish with an annual contribution of shillings 3million. We are so grateful for the gift of the late Maria Theresa Amooti for raising impactful people for the country and the Church,” Bishop Jjumba noted.

Her burial was attended by many dignitaries from different corners of the world. The Second Deputy Katikkiro who also doubles as the Minister for Finance in Buganda Kingdom, Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa on behalf of the Katikiro, Charles Peter Mayiga, applauded the Late Amooti for her legacy especially in raising disciplined child, Fred Luzinda Mukasa, the board member of ‘Emmwaanyi Terimba Ltd’ and proprietor of Kamaama Farm Estates.

Other influential people who attended the burial included the Deputy Chief Justice Designate, Flavian Nzeija, Uganda’s Ambassador to Algeria, John Chrysostom Alintuma Nsambu, Business Moguls led by the Francis Kitaka Family and Kwewayo Family, Pookino Jude Muleke, legislators and Local government leaders led by Masaka City Mayor Florence Namayanja and emeritus politician Gerald Ssendawula.
