A building caught fire following the Israeli attack

An Israeli airstrike on Monday struck the headquarters of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), disrupting a live broadcast and escalating the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.

The target was the Islamic Republic of Iran News Network (IRINN), a channel operated by IRIB.

Footage from the incident, now widely circulated online, shows debris falling mid-broadcast as a presenter criticized Israel live on air.

Moments later, an explosion shattered the studio’s backdrop, prompting the anchor to flee the set. The broadcast then abruptly cut to prerecorded programming.

The strike came shortly after Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz declared, “The Iranian propaganda and incitement mouthpiece is on its way to disappearing.”

During the broadcast, a reporter on state television remarked that the studio was filling with dust following “the sound of aggression against the homeland.” The explosion struck seconds later, causing visible damage to the set.

The attack followed an Israeli warning to evacuate the area of Tehran where the state broadcaster is located.

That warning affected a central district that houses IRIB offices, the national police headquarters, and three major hospitals, including one run by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Iran Strikes Israel, Israel Retaliates

Earlier on Monday, Iran launched another wave of missile attacks on Israel, reportedly killing at least eight people. It marked the fourth day of intense cross-border hostilities.

In retaliation, Israel launched a series of airstrikes on Iranian military infrastructure.

Israeli military spokesperson General Effie Defrin announced that Israeli forces had gained “full aerial superiority over Tehran’s skies” and had destroyed over 120 surface-to-surface missile launchers—approximately one-third of Iran’s arsenal.

Defrin added that the Israeli Air Force also targeted 10 command centers belonging to the Quds Force, the elite foreign operations arm of the IRGC.

“These strikes amount to a deep and comprehensive blow to the Iranian threat,” he said.

Iranian officials acknowledged the barrage, confirming they had fired around 100 missiles at Israeli targets and vowing further retaliation.

They also reported that continued Israeli attacks on military and nuclear facilities have left at least 224 people dead since Friday.

The latest escalation has drawn international concern as both nations intensify strikes, risking a wider regional conflict.
