Jealousy Woman Burns Minor with Hot Boiling Fish Soup

Hot fish soup.

Police is investigating circumstances under which Sarah Nakafu, 60, a resident of Buzzu Nakisunga Sub County in Mukono District burnt a child (name withheld) of eight years with hot fish boiling soup.

The suspect who is currently under detention at Kisoga police station has told investigating officers that ever since his husband brought the child at home, she declined to accept that the minor belongs to the husband’s sister but a co-wife.

After burning the minor, Nakafu locked her in the house and went to join his husband in the garden during the evening hours. The girl who sustained severe injuries in the face with one of her eye losing sight could not adhere pain which compelled her to make an alarm that attracting neighbours.     

Rebeccah Nakitende one of the neighbours and also the village women secretary says it is not the first time Nakafu is seen mistreating the child. She adds that on several occasions the minor has been denied food.

“Severally Nakafu mistreats the child on top of accusing her for belonging to her co-wife. Usually she tells her that time will come for his husband to speak the truth behind her real mother.”  Nakitende reveals.

John Batambuze, the husband to the suspect notes that the wife had informed her that the minor developed a wound in the face forcing her to lock him in the house to prevent her from contracting germs.

The Officer in Charge of Kisoga police station applauds residents for the vigilance saying they have opened a case and file is yet to be forwarded to the State Attorney for perusal.
