Mukono District Registrar Angella Kayigina is under pressure of containing further youth results for yesterday’s elections.
About 362 villages participated in the elections out of the 606 villages making up Mukono District.
However, after several reports indicating that National Unity Platform-NUP had won majority of the positions, the Insight Post has learnt that head of security officials in the district have mounted pressure to the registrar contain results.
Our intel in the District National Resistance Movement camps indicate a failed syndicate that was organized yesterday to win majority votes. NRM camps convinced Democratic party members to surrender their support to them in order to win massively.
Joachim Ssendi the Chairperson DP Mukono central division headed the negotiation. About UGX 30 million was released by one of the prominent aspirant eyeing the LC5 seat but unfortunately youth disregarded money deciding to vote for NUP candidates.
In process, big wigs in the NRM part were beaten trying sabotage the process. These include Davis Lukyamuzi, Faridah Namatovu, Anna Kayitiro and Steven Kigundu.
The four were taken on trying to confiscate exchange voter’s register to achieve victory for Hakim Kyeswa but instead lost to David Sserwadda (Independent). Party was preparing Kyeswa for higher positions.
Meanwhile, Betty Nambooze the Mukono Municipal MP hurled a celebration get-together party to the NUP winners at her home but this has not gone well with security operatives since it portrays NRM party as losers.
A number of journalist who reported about the election outcomes are still receiving threatening telephone calls from security officers.
