Simultaneous conflicting reactions have emerged concerning the death of the main suspect in the recent teacher’s fraudulent scheme.
The suspect identified as Jackson Baraka, a ‘loans officer’ attached to Access Financial Services passed on last week at Ntenjeru prison in Kayunga district.
Baraka was arrested alongside a colleague, Betty Nankumbi, aligned before the court and then remanded to Ntenjeru prison pending investigations.
However, the suspect was found dead inside the incarceration facility before the prison management carried it to the hospital.
Shocking Revelations
Our insider at Ntenjeru prison revealed to us that despite the prison’s management confirming the death of the suspect, it preferred transporting the body to the hospital in an ambulance to disguise that he was still alive.
Upon reaching the hospital, the prison officers informed Baraka’s family that he had been admitted, but by the time they reached the hospital declared him dead.
Other disturbing information is that the body is still confined at the mortuary since the death incident happened last Sunday.
Our source indicated that the suspect cried of stomachache a day after his incarceration at the prison. Our efforts to talk to prisons about the matter have not yielded.
Behind the Arrest
The suspects were arrested for involvement in a financial scam that targeted primary teachers in rural primary schools within the two districts of Mukono and Kayunga.
Over 500 teachers conned. However, the racket is believed to involve a large number of people within the financial company and government entities which benefited from the sweat of the poor teachers who have lived to suffer various discomfort.
More details about the evolution of the entire scandal shall be posted after thorough verification.
