The Kamwenge Chief Magistrate’s Court has charged a legal assistant with two counts of uttering false documents, contrary to Section 328 of the Penal Code Act.
The accused, Darius Ninsiima, 30, a legal assistant at Akandwanirira and Company Advocates in Kamwenge Town Council, appeared before the court on Wednesday following investigations by police.
According to the charge sheet, Ninsiima allegedly knowingly and fraudulently uttered a false Notice of Motion for a bail application at Kamwenge Chief Magistrate’s Court on May 28.
Prosecution further alleges that the document purported to have been signed by a remandee, Robert Monday, who is said not to have signed it.
In the second count, Ninsiima is accused of uttering a false affidavit in support of the bail application, which also allegedly bore the purported signature of the same remandee.
The charges stem from investigations into the authenticity of documents presented before the court.
Ninsiima was remanded to Kamwenge Government Prison until July 2, 2026.
