Kampala Revellers Soak in Early Easter Vibes at FlexiPay Powered Reminisce

The city’s party lovers stepped into a time capsule over the weekend as the March 2026 edition of Reminisce Kadanke lit up First Street in the industrial area, delivering a vibrant mix of nostalgia, music, and carefree celebration.

Dubbed ‘The Daytime Disco Edition’, the event powered by Stanbic Bank’s FlexiPay turned Club Guvnor Kampala into a lively playground where old school enthusiasts relived the golden days of classic R and B and soul.

From the moment the gates opened at 3 pm, revellers filled the venue, dancing, singing along, and reconnecting with memories that defined their youth.

At the heart of the experience was a carefully curated soundtrack by DJs Bryan, Kasbaby, Cisse, and Sal Deejay, who kept the crowd moving late into the night.

Hosted by Timothy Code, the event blended high energy entertainment with relaxed daytime vibes.

Reminisce co-founder Robert Victor Nsibirwa described the concept as more than just a party.

“Reminisce is an experiential event that brings together lovers of old school culture to enjoy classic music while reconnecting with friends. We call it the grown folk’s playground because it allows people to truly let loose,” he said.

He explained that the Daytime Disco theme drew from shared youthful experiences.

“Many of our attendees remember telling their parents they were going for coaching, only to sneak off to kadanke parties. This time, there is no need to hide. It is all out in the open,” he said.

Beyond the music, the event offered a much-needed escape for Kampala’s working class, creating space to unwind and socialise. A FlexiPay powered happy hour added to the excitement, with discounted drinks available through cashless transactions, making spending seamless and convenient.

For many, the event was more than entertainment. It was a chance to reclaim missed moments. First time attendee Lynn Birungi captured the mood.

“My parents were very strict about school parties, but today I feel like I have made up for all the fun I missed,” she said.

Since its launch in 2021, Reminisce has grown into one of Kampala’s most anticipated social experiences, now held three times a year and expanding beyond Uganda’s borders.

With the next edition scheduled for August and the final one planned for December, Reminisce continues to bring generations together through music, memories, and the simple joy of letting go.

ENDS.
