Detectives have once again secured the residence of former Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among in Nakasero and confiscated two more vehicles as investigations into alleged corruption, illicit enrichment, and money laundering continue to widen.
A joint team of investigators on Wednesday afternoon returned to the Mackinnon Road property, where they resealed the premises and impounded a Toyota Land Cruiser (registration number UBH 138W) alongside another vehicle identified as AA 630BE. The vehicles were taken for forensic examination as part of ongoing inquiries.
The latest developments come after earlier searches conducted at Parliament, during which investigators reportedly accessed and examined offices linked to the Speaker, the Clerk to Parliament, and the Finance Department. The operation is part of a broader probe into suspected financial irregularities within key parliamentary structures.
According to sources, the weekend operation saw detectives spend nearly two days at Among’s Nakasero residence before extending their activities to other properties, including her home in Kigo, where additional luxury vehicles are said to have been seized for further analysis.
The coordinated investigation is being led by the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), with support from forensic specialists, the Special Forces Command (SFC), and the Defence Intelligence and Security (DIS). The probe is understood to have been authorised at high levels of government.
Security agencies are reportedly reviewing financial transactions, procurement processes, and possible links between politically exposed individuals across Parliament and other state institutions. While official communication has remained limited, sources familiar with the inquiry suggest that more properties, assets, and individuals could be drawn into the investigation as it expands.
