On the morning of May 3, 2025, a tragic incident occurred at the Busabala Flyover in Makindye-Ssabagabo, Wakiso District, leading to the death of Rajiv Ruparelia, the 35-year-old Managing Director of the Ruparelia Group.

According to the Uganda Police Force, the crash involved a Nissan GTR (registration number UAT 638L) that lost control and overturned after colliding with temporary pavements at the roundabout.

The vehicle subsequently caught fire, resulting in the driver’s instant death. At the time of the incident, Rajiv was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

In the aftermath, social media platforms erupted with speculation about the presence of a female passenger, allegedly a “side chick,” who purportedly died alongside Rajiv.

Some bloggers have identified her as Irene or Irene Museera. A video circulating online features an unidentified voice saying “Mubaddemu Museera,” which translates to “Museera has been inside.”

The voice suggests familiarity with Rajiv and his close associates, inquiring whether she survived or perished in the fire.

However, the official police report, as stated by Deputy Police Spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, only confirms the death of Rajiv Ruparelia.

There is no mention of a second fatality or any other individuals involved in the crash.

The absence of official confirmation regarding the alleged female passenger has fueled further speculation.

Some social media users have circulated a video of a woman posing in Rajiv’s vehicle, claiming she is the one in question.

They have appealed for her to make a live video to clarify her status and dispel rumors.

Despite the circulating rumors, there is no concrete evidence to support the claim that a second person died in the accident.

The police report and available information from reliable sources do not corroborate these allegations.

Rajiv Ruparelia was married to Naiya Khagram Ruparelia in 2017, and they have a daughter together.

At the time of his death, he was the only son of Sudhir Ruparelia, a prominent Ugandan businessman and founder of the Ruparelia Group.

In conclusion, while rumors about a female passenger have circulated widely on social media, the official police report and available evidence do not confirm these claims.

The speculation remains unsubstantiated, and until official statements are made, the focus should remain on the tragic loss of Rajiv Ruparelia.
