Former St Peter’s College Tororo headteacher Joseph Olokojjo has succumbed to injuries he got after unknown people doused him in petrol and set him alight.
Reports reaching our desk indicate that Olokojjo, who was at one time deputy headteacher of Tororo Girls School, was attacked at his home.
What happened?
Some of the residents of Tororo municipality where Olokojjo’s home is located, claim that Olokojjo heard footsteps outside his home at night prompting him to get out of the house into the compound. However, immediately after he got out into the darkness, the assailants poured petrol onto him and set him on fire.
Efforts to save him
Olokojjo was immediately rushed to St Anthony Hospital in Tororo municipality. However, because of the extent of the burns, the medics referred him to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital.
The deceased, who was a former student of Nagongera Seminary, succumbed to the burn injuries on the way to Mulago National Referral Hospital, Kampala after medical authorities referred him to the top health facility in the country.
Efforts to get a comment from the Police were futile by press time.
