It is alleged that on August 7, Muyeghe met the victim while on her way home grabbed the basket from the victim, and asked her to follow him.  However, she was saved by her sister.

Muyeghe gave the victim 2,000 shillings and threatened her if she told anyone.

The victim reported the matter to the administrators of the development center, who liaised with the victim’s parents and reported it to the police.

Elly Matte, the Kigezi Police Spokesperson says that after the incident, Muyeghe went into hiding until Tuesday when he was apprehended.

Maate, says that Muyeghe is currently being held at Kabale police station as investigations into the matter continue.  The case is registered at Kabale police station under file number CRB: 605/2024.
