Venerable Canon Wilson Kisekka the Bishop Elect of Luwero Diocese has arrived ahead of his consecration and enthronement on Sunday.
On Wednesday, Ven. Canon Kisekka set off from Ndeeba Archdeaconry in Mukono Diocese and arrived at Lumansi Swamp at 11: 20 am which borders Luwero Diocese and Namirembe Diocese.
Upon his arrival, he was warmly received by clergymen and Christians led by Rev Canon Godfrey Muwanguzi, the Archdeacon of Ndejje Archdeaconry.
He cut a tape and the choir sang hymns giving thanks to the Lord for his election as Bishop.
He was later ushered into the waiting vehicle to lead the procession to St Mark Cathedral in Luwero town where a special service has been organized.
Bishop-Elect Kisekka was later received by caretaker Bishop Right Reverend James William Ssebaggala as he made his way into Luwero town council.
Bishop-Elect Kisekka went direct to his official residence, by the time of compiling the story, he had arrived at the cathedral for service. He will be consecrated and enthroned on Sunday 24th March.
Ven. Canon Kisekka was elected on March 6th, 2024 after the House of Bishops nullified the election of Rev. Canon Godfrey Kasana Ssemakula.
This was after receiving credible information that the integrity of the Bishop-elect was misrepresented during the nomination and election process, which invalidated the election.
