Shock and grief have gripped Uganda’s media fraternity following the sudden and mysterious death of CBS FM journalist Jimmy Ssekabiito.
Ssekabiito, a well-known reporter based in Ssembabule, reportedly left home to attend a friend’s wedding ceremony in Lubaga, Kampala.
However, by Friday morning, reports of his death began to spread, leaving family, colleagues, and friends in disbelief.
New details emerging from Lubaga Hospital indicate that Ssekabiito was delivered to the facility while already dead, transported on a boda boda motorcycle.
According to hospital sources, the boda boda rider is currently being held at the medical facility, while a second unidentified man, who was reportedly supporting the body from behind, fled the scene upon arrival.
The exact cause of death remains unknown, and conflicting accounts continue to circulate.
However, no official confirmation has yet been made regarding the circumstances that led to his death.
Ssekabiito’s body is currently lying at the Lubaga Hospital mortuary as authorities begin investigations into the incident.
Police have not yet released a formal statement, but inquiries into the matter are ongoing.
