The new agreement between Betty Nambooze’s Democratic Party faction in Mukono and Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine also the current head of National Unity Platform-NUP has scared George Fred Kagimu’s party faction.
Ever since Kagimu was designated the new chairperson of DP in Mukono district and also Mukono municipality party flag bearer has been struggling much to win Kyagulanyi’s endorsement.
However, to his surprise Kyagulanyi teamed up with Nambooze. The Insight Post confirms that Kyagulanyi on Tuesday evening visited Nambooze at her home where he also met with various DP leaders left outside during the election exercise that was organized by Nobert Mao.
Hajji Lukeman Ssegayi who chaired a secretive meeting between Kyagulanyi and the top district DP leaders headed by Nambooze revealed that they all agreed to contest on various posts within the Mukono under NUP.
The move has left majority of the members in Kagimu’s camp shivering with political fever already anticipating to loose victory in the forthcoming general elections.
One of the members in his camp who preferred anonymity to speak to us says is considering joining the Nambooze’s side. “The way I understand the dynamics of Mukono politics, Kyagulanyi teaming up with Nambooze is enough determinant that we have lost the game,”
