KAYUNGA – Naalyamabidde B Village LC1 Chairperson Ibrahim Kamwoosi has pledged transparent leadership, improved sanitation and community empowerment after residents celebrated his unopposed re-election at a thanksgiving ceremony held at Kayunga Sub-county headquarters.
Residents urged Kamwoosi to offer free village services, including recommendation letters, official endorsements and the use of the village stamp, arguing that since he did not give voters money during his campaign, he should not charge for public services.
Kamwoosi promised to establish an official village office, organize poverty eradication workshops and ensure every household has a latrine.
He also vowed to enforce monthly community cleaning exercises in line with the presidential directive on National Cleaning Day and warned that those who neglect sanitation would be reported to higher authorities.
Former Kayunga District Speaker Saleh Bulinson urged elected leaders to shun corruption and bribery, while encouraging residents to support their leaders and hold them accountable for effective service delivery.
