The leader of the Faith of Unity, Owobusobozi Bisaka, has called on Ugandans to strictly adhere to health guidelines issued by medical experts and the Ministry of Health to help contain the spread of Ebola.
Bisaka stressed the importance of public cooperation in combating the disease and safeguarding communities.
“I urge all people to follow the instructions given by health workers and the Ministry of Health so that together we can overcome Ebola,” he said.
Followers presented their spiritual leader with a variety of gifts, including cash contributions, livestock and other items, in appreciation of what they described as the blessings, healing, guidance and protection they have received through the Faith of Unity.
“We are grateful for the blessings, healing and guidance we have received, and these gifts are a sign of our appreciation,” some of the followers said.
Bisaka also commended Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for maintaining peace and stability in the country.
“I thank President Museveni for the peace Uganda continues to enjoy, and I encourage all elected leaders to serve the people and promote development,” he said.
The Faith of Unity leader further welcomed more than 190 new members who recently joined the movement and encouraged them to actively participate in its programmes and activities.
With followers across Uganda and beyond, the Faith of Unity continues to expand its membership while promoting messages of unity, faith, social harmony and community development.
