Fuel-Saving Technology

Ugandan motorists grappling with rising fuel costs may soon find relief following the introduction of a German-developed fuel efficiency technology known as Fuel Eco Tec (FET). The innovation has officially been launched on the local market by Vitorra Holding Ltd, which says the system is aimed at helping vehicle owners reduce fuel consumption and cut operational costs.

According to the company, the technology is designed to improve fuel combustion efficiency in both petrol and diesel engines, enabling vehicles to consume less fuel while maintaining performance. The device can reportedly be installed without interfering with a vehicle’s existing mechanical structure and may also be transferred from one vehicle to another when needed.

Speaking about the product, Vitorra Holding’s Head of Marketing, Thurayya Nakayima, said the technology comes at a critical time when motorists and businesses are struggling with persistently high fuel prices.

She noted that the solution is expected to benefit a wide range of users, including individual car owners, transport companies, schools, logistics firms, government agencies, and agricultural enterprises operating large fleets.

Nakayima explained that the system works by improving the mixing and movement of air and fuel inside the engine’s combustion chamber. This process allows oxygen to be used more efficiently, resulting in more complete fuel burning.

She added that the improved combustion not only lowers fuel consumption but also reduces harmful emissions, enhances engine performance, and increases the lifespan of vehicle engines.

The technology is installed along the fuel line between the fuel filter and the high-pressure fuel pump. Company officials say it is compatible with different types of vehicles and machinery, including passenger cars, trucks, buses, tractors, and construction equipment.

Nakayima further noted that the technology tends to have a greater impact on older vehicles, particularly models manufactured before 2018, since many newer vehicles already incorporate similar fuel optimization systems.

Automotive mechanic and digital content creator Moses Kiboneka, who has tested the technology, said users can recover installation costs through fuel savings within roughly 14 months.

Kiboneka explained that more efficient fuel combustion also minimizes carbon residue inside the engine, which could lower maintenance and servicing costs over time.

Industry observers say the arrival of Fuel Eco Tec reflects growing demand for fuel-saving technologies as consumers seek affordable ways to manage transport expenses while also reducing environmental pollution.
