“We Have the Majje”: Evelyn Anite Dropped by Museveni

Evelyne Anite

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has dropped State Minister for Investment and Privatisation, Evelyn Anite, in a surprise cabinet reshuffle.

Anite, once known for her fiery political rhetoric and unwavering defence of the ruling establishment, was among several long-serving ministers relieved of their duties as Museveni unveiled a revised cabinet lineup.

Her exit has been widely interpreted as part of a broader reset aimed at tightening government efficiency and consolidating executive control.

In past public engagements, Anite became known for her dramatic political expressions, including the phrase “we have the majje,” a colloquial assertion of strength and backing within the ruling system.

The phrase, often used in political rallies and heated exchanges, had come to symbolize her combative style and firm alignment with state power structures.

However, her sudden removal signals a shift in political fortunes, even for some of the most vocal loyalists within the administration.

The reshuffle reflects Museveni’s continued strategy of balancing political loyalty with performance considerations as he restructures key government portfolios ahead of future governance priorities.
