Mpuuga Issues Strict Campaign Guidelines to Democratic Front Managers

Nyendo-Mukungwe Member of Parliament and Parliamentary Commissioner, Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba, has issued a set of campaign guidelines to aspiring campaign managers of the Democratic Front (DF) ahead of the 2026 general elections.

Mpuuga made the remarks at his home in Soweto, Masaka City, while meeting aspiring campaign managers drawn from the 13 parishes of Nyendo-Mukungwe Division.

The meeting aimed to prepare the DF team for the start of official campaigns slated for Monday, November 10, 2025.

In his address, Mpuuga emphasized the need for discipline, integrity, and respect among campaigners, warning against the growing culture of political hostility and vulgarity.

“The tendency of using insults, abusive language, and uncivil behaviour in politics is eroding our values as a nation,” he said. “We must avoid violence, stop abusing others on social media, and instead engage voters with respect and ideas.”

He also urged the campaign managers to refrain from attacking cultural institutions, particularly the Buganda Kingdom and its leadership, stressing that such acts divide rather than build communities.

Mpuuga cautioned the youth against seeking visibility through insults, noting that such conduct not only damages their public image but can also cost them future opportunities in employment and marriage.

“We are building leaders with good character — morally upright, intellectually sound, and disciplined,” he said. “That is the kind of leadership the Democratic Front stands for.”

He revealed that the DF has taken deliberate steps to vet candidates and campaign leaders who exhibit strong moral fibre and leadership potential.

Symbol of Hope

At the same event, Mpuuga handed over a tree symbol to the DF coordinator for Nyendo-Mukungwe, Ssabiti Kasujja, symbolizing the beginning of what he termed “a national struggle to rescue Uganda” from challenges such as poverty, corruption, and poor governance.

He pledged to traverse the country rallying support for DF candidates, saying the movement represents hope for Ugandans yearning for accountable leadership.

DF Candidates in Masaka

Mpuuga will seek re-election as Nyendo-Mukungwe MP on the DF ticket, facing competition from Ssebina Lubowa Gyavira (NUP) and Rachael Nakitende (NRM).

Other DF candidates in Masaka City include: Jurriete Kakande Nakabuye – Masaka City Woman MP. Rivals: Rose Nalubowa (NUP), Sawuya Nanyonga (Independent), Justine Nammere (NRM)

Mulindwa Michael Nakumusana – Masaka City Mayor. Rivals: Florence Namayanja (NUP), Kayemba Godfrey (Independent), Ddembe Frederick (NRM)

Campaign Trail

According to the DF program, the party will launch its campaigns in Kimanya-Kabonera Division, the home area of Abed Bwanika, beginning in Kasswa–Bukoto, where the DF candidate will face Patrick Kuteesa (NUP) and Asiimye Robert (NRM).

The team will then return to Nyendo-Mukungwe on Friday for a major rally at Kasana playground, marking the official start of their campaign activities in the constituency.

ENDS.
