Woman Arrested For Stealing Newborn Baby

Police in Amolatar have arrested a woman for allegedly stealing a newborn baby from Amolatar Health Centre IV.

The suspect has been identified as Stella Akullo, a resident of Otuboi in Kalaki District while the baby’s parents are Winnie Aciro and Emmy Opio reside at Angayiki Village, in Arwotcek Sub-County, Amolatar District.

It is alleged that on Friday, the suspect who had been staying in the ward told people that she was waiting for a patient who was being delivered to the facility.

However, when the baby went missing, people realized she had also disappeared prompting an immediate search.

Patrick Jimmy Okema, the North Kyoga Police Spokesperson says that Akullo was picked from a landing site as she tried to leave the district.

The suspect who has been charged with stealing a baby is being held at Amolatar Central Police Station under SD Ref: 02/24/05/2024.
