With a few days left to end the holy month of Ramadan, Richard Kateregga (Mivule), an aspirant for the position of member of parliament for Mukono South has carried on with delivering support towards the groups of Muslim communities.
Kateregga believes this is one way of supporting one another especially by appreciating the tremendous support and love shown to him but also offer them some relief to muslims as they complete their month-long fasting period.
Worldwide, Muslim annually recognize Ramadan as a month of fasting, communal prayers, and self-reflection. In observance, Kateregga has reached out to various muslim groups and families offering food items and money.
“Fasting showcases one’s commitment to strengthening their spiritual journey, it is therefore important whether you’re a Muslim or not, to commend their efforts.” Kateregga noted.
Ali Ssengooba, one of the beneficiaries at Nakisunga commended Kateregga saying such an act from a Christian reflects good values, empathy and generosity.
Kateregga has laid a strong ground for securing the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party ticket at Mukono South through community appearances and donations to especially youths and women groups.
He will be competing for the parliamentary position against the incumbent, Fred Kayondo (DP) and others from NUP, Democratic Alliance, and ANT.
