Masaka, Uganda – Thousands of mourners gathered in Nkuke village, Masaka district, to bid farewell to Fredinard Kalanzi, father of Uganda’s Ambassador to Algeria, John Chrysostom Alintuma Nsambu. Kalanzi passed away on April 28, 2025.
The burial ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, including government ministers, religious leaders, and diplomats.
Bishop Severus Jjumba praised Kalanzi for nurturing respectful children like Nsambu, who have contributed to the nation’s development.

Minister Kyeyune Haruna Kasolo represented the central government and delivered a condolence message from the President.
He highlighted Nsambu’s achievements as a former Parliamentarian and state minister, attributing them to his father’s upbringing.
Tribute from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Ambassador Charles Ssentongo, Head of Protocol in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, paid tribute to Nsambu’s diligent service, linking it to his father’s efforts in grooming him as a humble gentleman.

Buganda Kingdom’s Tribute
The Buddu County Deputy Chief, Pookino Dick Muwanga, eulogized Nsambu for his outstanding service to the Kingdom.
A Family’s Tribute
Ambassador Nsambu and his family paid last respects to their father, commending him for his unselective love and pledging to keep his legacy.

The late Fredinard Kalanzi was born in 1942 and served as a soldier during Idi Amin’s government. He was married to Mrs. Josephine Nantume for 60 years, and they had 12 children.
