Comedians and DJs after receiving food packages

Mt. Lebanon Christian Center Church-MLCC Mukono has distinctively stood out among folks of good will bridging the gaps for food reliefs to vulnerable people left out by the government in Mukono district.

After the government declared the 42 days’ lockdown, introduced the initiative of sending relief funds to residents affected though majority in Mukono claim missing out on the fund.

MLCC through its worker’s association of ‘Strong Men and Women of God’ have so far reached out to 300 families donating to them 5kg of maize flour, 2kg of sugar and 1 bar of soap each.

The families that have benefited include among others taxi drivers, conductors and touts, DJs, bodaboda riders and vulnerable people selected by local council-LCI chairpersons.

Bishop Samuel Lwandasa, the cardinal leader of MLCC says the intention for the donations is assisting families affected especially by the 42 days’ lockdown make survival.

“The lockdown is intended to reduce the spread of the disease, but it financially affects many groups of people to the extent of failing to provide for their families. We shall not wait for them to die but in our capacity extend a hand were the government has not reached.”

Mukono Resident District Commissioner Fatumah Ndisaba applauds the church for responding to the government’s call of saving a brother especially during this lockdown period.

Ndisaba acknowledges that many people turned vulnerable during this lockdown period but unfortunately missed out on government relief funds.
