The Ministry of Local Government has interdicted 10 senior officials of Kayunga District Local Government following allegations of negligence of duty, abuse of office, mismanagement of public resources and possible financial impropriety.
The interdiction follows a meeting convened by the Minister of Local Government in Kayunga District on September 30, 2026, during which several concerns were raised about the conduct of the officials and their impact on service delivery.
In a letter dated October 1, 2026, addressed to the Chief Administrative Officer of Kayunga District, the ministry said the allegations had “greatly compromised service delivery” in the district.
The officials named in the letter are District Engineer Eng. Rogers Meke, District Education Officer Dr Dan Bubaale, District Planner Judith Kayote, District Production Officer and Parish Development Model (PDM) focal person Charles Yiga, and District Natural Resources Officer Vincent Ahimbisibwe.
Others are District Staff Surveyor Simon Senfuka, Kayunga Town Clerk Farida Kulabako, Principal Human Resource Officer and Secretary to the District Service Commission Dickson Seboowa, District Inspector of Schools Ramathan Simali and Senior Human Resource Officer Abdu Munulo.
The ministry did not provide details of the specific incidents or transactions underlying the allegations against each of the officials.
The interdiction comes as the government continues to face scrutiny over the management of public resources and delivery of services at local government level.
The affected officials are expected to be subjected to the applicable administrative and disciplinary processes to establish the facts surrounding the allegations.
