I Can Never Attack You My Brother! Justine Nameere Apologises To Gen Muhoozi After He Threatened To Remove Her From Cabinet

State Minister for Local Government Justine Nameere has apologised to Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba over a controversial video that she says was edited and circulated with the intention of creating misunderstanding between them.

Nameere said the video was manipulated by individuals who wanted to portray her as attacking Gen. Muhoozi, insisting that she has respect for him and would never deliberately disrespect or confront him.

“My sincere apology to Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba regarding a video that unscrupulous people maliciously edited and put your name. I can NEVER attack you my Brother! Heshima,” Nameere said.

The minister also accused those behind the circulation of the edited video of attempting to create disagreement between her and Gen. Muhoozi, adding that such actions were wrong.

In her message, Nameere quoted Proverbs Chapter 6:19, saying, “The Lord detests a false witness,” as she condemned what she described as efforts to spread false information.

Her apology comes after a political disagreement that followed a video clip that attracted attention on social media and was interpreted by some people as criticism directed at Gen. Muhoozi.

Nameere clarified that the longer version of the recording showed that her remarks were not directed at Gen. Muhoozi but were instead addressing Patriotic League of Uganda Secretary General Daudi Kabanda.

The controversy had attracted reactions from different political figures and supporters, with Gen. Muhoozi demanding an apology over the matter.

Gen. Muhoozi had earlier given Nameere a deadline to apologise, warning that failure to do so would have consequences. He later said Masaka residents supported him and President Yoweri Museveni, not Nameere.

Nameere’s apology appears aimed at calming tensions and maintaining relations amid the political discussions surrounding Masaka City and the wider National Resistance Movement activities.

The minister maintained that she respects Gen. Muhoozi and rejected claims that she intended to attack him, saying the disagreement was caused by a misleading version of the video.

The development has continued to attract attention as political leaders and supporters follow the exchanges involving Nameere, Gen. Muhoozi and other figures linked to the ongoing discussions in Masaka.
