#1. Artificial Intelligence (AI)

AI is not a new concept. It existed long before the birth of the internet, but today it is so strong that it is capable of sustaining an entire technology on its own. Artificial Intelligence is being applied everywhere today, from banking systems, cars, smartphones, to home set ups. It is safe to say it has become the new normal.

#2. Blockchain

Blockchain is the technology behind cryptocurrency, the new digital currency about to take over the world. From what has been noted, blockchain technology has the potential to impact different sectors, from healthcare, to real estate, elections, and law enforcement among many other industries.

#3. Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality

These are almost intertwined technologies that the world is fast adopting, as they let you experience things virtually. They are currently being used by all types of businesses. For example, AR technology can be used by medical students when practicing surgery in a controlled set up. VR, on the other hand, is the in thing in gaming and interactive digital marketing.

#4. Cognitive Cloud Computing

Cognitive cloud can be said to be an extension of traditional cloud and cognitive computing. This is because you can develop cognitive computing apps and bring to the public via cloud deployments. There is every reason to believe that cognitive computing could be the next big thing in the IT sector.

#5. Angular and React

These are JavaScript based Frameworks meant to create modern web applications. One is capable of creating a highly modular web application using Angular and React technology, as it exempts you from going through a series of changes when making an additional feature. This same technology can be used to create native mobile applications using the same HTML, JS, and CSS knowledge.

#6. DevOps

DevOps is more of a concept than a technology, but it fits into the bill due to the fact that it facilitates the correlation between development and operations. It represents the integration of operation and developers’ teams through measuring application performance, automation of structures, and workflows.

#7. Internet of Things (IoT)

IoT is deep into the mainstream as of now. It has found its place as a full-fledged technology owing to its great potential in modern business. Essentially, IoT connects multiple deices and creates a virtual network, allowing everything to operate seamlessly via a single server. We can call it a large network of connected devices gathering and sharing data about how they are being used, and from where they are being operated. Examples of these devices are; mobile phones, washing machines, refrigerators, and many other households.
With Internet of Things, we will soon have cities with optimized energy use, traffic system, and efficient waste management systems.
