A mother whose husband abandoned after giving birth three children is struggling for survival.
Eseza Nakayima a resident of Kiyindi town council in Buikwe district was abandoned by his husband David Kayiwa after giving birth to three children.
The destitute mother got stuck at Kawolo hospital located at Lugazi Municipality since June 6, 2020, when she gave birth until Tuesday when she was helped by a person of good will to pay his transport and returned home.
Nakayima reveals reporting to the hospital using a bodaboda a day before she gave birth, after delivery, his husband visited her in the hospital and then left after promising to get support in form of food and money for transport they would use to return home. However, since then she says herself and the three children have been surviving on God’s grace.
Surprisingly even when she returned home the husband left claiming to seek for support, three days now he has never returned.
“My husband left me in the hospital without any support despite of being discharged, a well-wisher helped us get home when he again decided to leave”
The Kawolo Hospital Administrator Haruna Wamala says the mother gave birth to health children but is also worried of the father caring about them given his nature.
“Even at the time of visiting the wife at hospital, the husband was totally drunk and seemed to be irresponsible and mindless towards caring about the family,” Wamala explains.
