On a quiet morning in Kamengo, the sun rose gently over the rolling green hills, casting a warm glow on the small town as it prepared for a solemn occasion.
Residents lined the roads, some holding flags and others wearing somber expressions, all awaiting the arrival of a distinguished guest.
General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Senior Presidential Advisor and Commander of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces Land Forces, was making his way to Kamengo.
His visit was not in an official capacity but rather a deeply personal journey to honor a close friend and comrade, Cedric Babu, whose sudden passing had left the nation in mourning.

As General Muhoozi’s convoy entered the town, he was received with quiet reverence by Michael Mawanda who greeted the General by slightly tapping his elbow and a bowed head. Both men acknowledged the weight of the moment.
Together, the two leaders proceeded to the ceremonial grounds where a large tent is erected to host family members, dignitaries, and citizens.
