Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) is expected over Rwanda, Burundi, and western to southern Tanzania.

Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) is expected over central Ethiopia, southern Uganda, central to southern South Sudan, northern and central Tanzania, and South-western Kenya.

Dry conditions are expected over most parts of Sudan, northern and eastern South Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Somalia, eastern Tanzania, eastern and northern Kenya and north-eastern Uganda.

Note: 1 mm of rainfall is equivalent to 1 litre of water per square meter. 

Rainfall Anomalies

Drier than usual conditions are expected over most parts of Tanzania.

Wetter than usual conditions are expected over parts of southern Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, south-western South Sudan and western Uganda.

Temperatures

Moderate to hot temperatures (20 – 32 ℃) is expected over most parts of southern Sudan, central to western South Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, northern and eastern Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

Mild conditions (less than 20℃) are expected over central to northern Ethiopia, central to western Kenya, northern Somalia, and western regions of Rwanda and Burundi.

Temperature anomalies

Warmer than usual temperatures are expected in most parts of the Greater Horn of Africa (GHA).

Cooler than usual temperatures are expected in coastal parts of Kenya and Somalia.
