Princess Nabiryo Cissy of Kisozi, Buzaya, and her fiancé, Malandi Paul, have celebrated a colourful introduction ceremony that brought together members of the Busoga royal family, relatives, friends, government officials, cultural leaders and other distinguished guests.

The ceremony was described as more than a union between two people, with family members saying it represented love, unity, culture and the strong heritage of the people of Busoga. The gathering also provided an opportunity for the two families to come together and celebrate the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of Princess Cissy and Paul.

The occasion was attended by several prominent personalities, including Minister Faruok Goobi of Busoga Kingdom, Commissioner Lwigo David, Nabimanya Ronald, PA to Gen. Salim Saleh, as well as Royals, Princes and Princesses of Busoga Kingdom and other invited guests.

Princess Nabiryo Cissy, daughter of Kisozi, Buzaya, was at the centre of the celebration as she formally entered a new chapter of her life with Malandi Paul. She was also celebrated by her beloved big brother, Omulangira Mpendo Juma Akiiki, who joined other members of the family in thanking God for the successful ceremony.

Paul, described as a young and accomplished businessman, was also welcomed as part of the extended family. His humility, family values and commitment to building a future with Princess Cissy were highlighted during the celebrations.

The ceremony was also filled with music and entertainment, with popular Ugandan musician Maureen Nantume taking the stage to entertain guests. Her performance of some of her popular love songs added excitement to the celebration and created a joyful atmosphere for family members, Royals and friends.

Beyond the music and celebrations, the introduction also carried a strong historical connection between the two families. Malandi Paul is a son of the former Kisozi-Buzaya LC III Chairperson and senior NRM cadre, who is remembered for his role in welcoming and mobilising support during President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s early political activities in the 1980s.

According to the family, his father played a role during Museveni’s political activities, including his visit through Kayunga together with the late Buluba. This history added another important dimension to the coming together of the two families.

The family said the introduction therefore represented more than a matrimonial ceremony. It brought together family history, cultural heritage, community leadership and hopes for a united future.

Members of the Ngobi and Nangobi families expressed appreciation to everyone who travelled, contributed, prayed and participated in making the ceremony successful. They said every message of goodwill, presence and contribution helped make the occasion memorable.

Omulangira Mpendo Juma Akiiki, Chairman of PLU Kamuli District, conveyed congratulations to Princess Nabiryo Cissy and Malandi Paul on behalf of the family, Royals, Princes and Princesses, and the Ngobi and Nangobi families.

He thanked God for guiding the couple and their families to this important moment and prayed for continued blessings, love and strength as the couple prepares to build their future together.

The celebrations ended on a message of love, family unity and pride in Busoga heritage, with the family wishing the couple a blessed future and calling for continued unity among the people of Busoga .
