The Office of the President is mourning the death of Makindye Division Deputy Resident City Commissioner (RCC), Mark Baingana, who passed away yesterday.

In a condolence message, the Minister for the Presidency, Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda, described Baingana’s death as a great loss to the Office of the President and the people he served.

“It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that I received the sad news of the passing on of one of our staff, the Deputy Resident City Commissioner for Makindye Division, Mr. Mark Baingana,” Babalanda said.

On behalf of the Office of the President, her family and herself, the minister extended condolences to Baingana’s family, relatives, friends, colleagues in the Office of the Resident City Commissioner and residents of Makindye Division.

Babalanda praised the late Baingana for his dedication to public service, saying he served with discipline and commitment in promoting peace, security and effective service delivery.

“The late Deputy RCC served the people with dedication, discipline and commitment to upholding peace, security and service delivery,” she said.

She also prayed for God’s comfort for the bereaved family and eternal rest for the deceased.

“We pray to the Almighty God to grant strength and comfort to the bereaved family during this difficult time, and to grant the soul of our departed colleague eternal rest,” she said.

Quoting Psalm 34:18, Babalanda added: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

She concluded her message by praying that Baingana’s soul rests in eternal peace.

The Office of the President had not announced the cause of Baingana’s death or released details of his burial arrangements by Tuesday evening.
