St. Mary’s College Mayenze has introduced an education support initiative aimed at helping bright, talented and financially disadvantaged Ugandan learners access quality education without allowing financial difficulties to stand in the way of their dreams. Through the programme, eligible students can benefit from school fee reductions of up to 50 percent, offering renewed hope to families struggling to meet the rising cost of education.

The bursary programme targets learners who demonstrate strong academic potential, exceptional talents and those from families facing financial challenges. The school is particularly encouraging parents and guardians to take advantage of the opportunity to secure a better educational future for their children, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Primary school pupils preparing to join secondary education have also been considered under the initiative. Candidates who score between aggregates 4 and 14 in the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) can qualify for consideration for the bursary when seeking admission to St. Mary’s College Mayenze, giving academically promising learners an opportunity to continue their education.

In another measure designed to ease the financial pressure on parents, the school is offering a two percent discount to families that pay their children’s school fees within the first two weeks of a new term. The arrangement rewards early payment while helping parents manage their education expenses more effectively.

The institution has also introduced incentives to recognise academic excellence and encourage learners to work harder in their studies. Students who obtain seven or more distinctions can receive UGX 50,000 in cash or partial sponsorship towards their school fees, depending on the support arrangement. The initiative seeks to motivate learners to maintain high academic standards while celebrating their achievements.

Special consideration has also been extended to children who have lost their parents. Under the programme, students who have lost their fathers are eligible for a 50 percent reduction in school fees, while those who have lost their mothers qualify for a 25 percent reduction. The support is intended to help affected families continue educating their children despite the emotional and financial challenges associated with losing a parent.

Beyond academic performance, St. Mary’s College Mayenze emphasises discipline, moral values and spiritual growth as essential components of a learner’s development. Students are encouraged to participate in prayers, Holy Mass and Scripture Union activities while nurturing their academic abilities and other talents. The school aims to develop responsible learners equipped with knowledge, discipline and values that can guide them throughout their lives.

Parents and guardians interested in admission, bursaries or other available fee support opportunities can contact St. Mary’s College Mayenze on 0782785625 for further information. Through its education support programme, the school is seeking to ensure that deserving learners are not denied the opportunity to study, discover their potential and pursue their ambitions simply because their families cannot afford the full cost of education.
