The High Court in Mukono is set to handle a series of election petitions between September 14 and 18, 2026, with several cases arising from parliamentary and local government elections in Mukono and Kayunga districts.
The court cause list shows that nine election petitions are scheduled before Justice Mwaka Philip, Lady Justice Flavia Lamuno and Godfrey Himbaza during the five-day period.
The week will open on Monday, September 14, when five election petitions are scheduled for mention.
The first case, HCT-14-CV-EP-0001-2026, involves Birungi Kobusingye Jackline and Nakweede Harriet and will be mentioned at 9:00am in the Registrar’s Chamber before Godfrey Himbaza.
The second petition, HCT-14-CV-EP-0002-2026, filed by Ssegawa Elijah against Baseke Fred, will also come up for mention at 9:00am in the Judge’s Chamber.
Ronald Kibuule’s petition against Abdallah Kiwanuka, HCT-14-CV-EP-0003-2026, is also listed for mention before Godfrey Himbaza.
Another petition, HCT-14-CV-EP-0004-2026, filed by Nabantanzi Daisy Ssonko against Bakireke Nambooze Betty, specifically challenges the election for Mukono Municipality Parliamentary seat. The case is scheduled for mention at 9:00am in the Judge’s Chamber.
The fifth case listed for Monday is HCT-14-CV-EP-0010-2026, involving Mukisa Tonny Kisuule and Kayemba Shaban, also scheduled for mention.
On Tuesday, September 15, Lady Justice Flavia Lamuno will handle four election petitions, all scheduled for mention at 9:00am in the Judge’s Chamber.
The first is HCT-14-CV-EP-0011-2026, filed by Kiyaga Robison Hardson against Kaggwa Mike. The petition challenges the election of the chairperson for Ntenjeru-Kisoga Town Council in Mukono District.
The second case, HCT-14-CV-EP-0012-2026, involves Kirabire Badru and Mutibwa Dickson Nkajja.
The third, HCT-14-CV-EP-0013-2026, pits Mwanjazi Ismael Bright against Kakooza Muhammad, while the fourth, HCT-14-CV-EP-0014-2026, involves Maleza Christopher and Mubyaliwa David.
The court will then move to substantive hearings.
On Monday, September 14, Justice Mwaka Philip is scheduled to hear HCT-14-CV-EP-0005-2026, an election petition filed by Hon. Nsanja Baseke against Patrick Kayongo over the Ntenjeru County South, Kayunga District election.
On Tuesday, September 15, Justice Mwaka Philip will hear HCT-14-CV-EP-0006-2026, filed by Kiiza Arthur against the Electoral Commission concerning the Bbaale County constituency in Kayunga District.
On Wednesday, September 16, the judge will hear HCT-14-CV-EP-0007-2026, involving Muyanja Johnson Ssenyonga and Lukooya Francis Mukoome. The cause list states that the petitioner is challenging the outcome of the election and the second declaration.
On Thursday, September 17, Justice Mwaka Philip will hear HCT-14-CV-EP-0008-2026, filed by Mulamuzi John against the Electoral Commission.
The week’s final election petition, HCT-14-CV-EP-0009-2026, is scheduled for hearing on Friday, September 18. The case involves Walusimbi Isa and Mutebi Fred Mutevu, with the claim listed as results alteration.
