NRM Unveils Parish-Level Mobilisation Strategy for Museveni in Nakaseke

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has launched an intensive parish-level grassroots mobilisation drive to boost support for President Yoweri Museveni ahead of the 2025 general elections.

The strategy was unveiled on Friday in Kapeeka Parish, Nakaseke District by NRM Deputy Secretary General Rt. Hon. Rosemary Namayanja and Party Treasurer Ambassador Barbara Nekesa.

Namayanja said the new campaign aims to secure over 13 million votes for President Museveni by conducting deep, village-to-village outreach. She noted that unlike previous elections, the party will depend heavily on its established grassroots structures.

“NRM has 30 committee members per village across over 72,000 villages nationwide. If each committee member and others recruit five people, we shall be able to raise 13 million votes,” Namayanja said.

She added that the mobilisation exercise is designed to reinforce the ongoing district rallies being conducted by the NRM presidential candidate.

“These teams will go village to village, door to door, and person to person. We developed this strategy to intensify our campaigns so that by January 15, the NRM can secure its victory,” she said.

NRM National Treasurer Amb. Barbara Nekesa urged local structures to mobilise aggressively to ensure President Museveni wins with a margin far above the required 51% threshold.

At least 63 mobilisers from Kapeeka Parish attended the launch and pledged to campaign for Museveni. The mobilisers received leadership handbooks in which they are expected to document each person they recruit for the NRM presidential candidate.

Nakaseke District NRM Chairperson Muhammadi Gubya encouraged the mobilisers to clearly explain government achievements within the parish as they canvass support.

“This strategy is effective because the mobilisers will reach each person in the community and recruit them. For us in Nakaseke, we shall secure massive votes for the President since he is already popular,” Gubya said.

President Museveni is expected to campaign in Nakaseke and Nakasongola on December 30th this year. According to the Electoral Commission roadmap, elections for President and Members of Parliament will take place on January 15, 2025.
