As police continue to face public scrutiny for shooting people under controversial operations in Kampala, at the neighbouring district of Mukono, also the Officer in Charge of Seeta Police Station identified as ASP Nampamya lives on tenterhooks.
It is purported that the officer abandoned the station following a tragic incident on the new year’s night.
The officer opened fire on a 25-year-old man identified as Hussein Kyeyinza, a resident of JJogo in Goma Division who was loudly jubilating crossing into the new year 2025.

The incident happened on January 1, 2024, at around 12am around Seeta-Namilyango junction. It created commotion among people.
The following day the matter was reported to Mukono Police and a general enquiry file opened up. (GEF 001/2025).
Despite eyewitnesses observing the officer directly shooting at the victim, Police retaliated saying it was a stray bullet that happened as a result of dispersing the overexcited crowd which had entered the Kampala-Jinja highway while celebrating the new year and eventually creating its blockage.
“…was injured by a stray bullet and delivered himself to Mukono general hospital but due to his condition was referred to Mulago hospital for treatment.” Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango noted.
Residents at Mukono demands that enquiries be expeditiously handled and the officer be brought to book as a way of offering justice to the victim.
This website is yet to produce a detailed update on the current situation of the victim as well the shooting ordeal.
So far, we have established that also the OC is yet to return from his whereabouts. Our insider at Seeta revealed that he is taking a hide at the village home following pressure from their superiors to ensure meeting treatment costs of the victim.
This month, the Daily Monitor reported that so far six people have been shot dead by police at different locations in Kampala Capital City.
The shooting occurred at Total Fuel Station, Acacia Mall, and Corner House at Mawanda Road.
Police said these were known criminals whom they had been trailing for a while.
