Mukono Police Division is investigating a serious road traffic incident that occurred at the main gate of Mukono High Court along Lower Kauga Road at around 11:28 a.m. on Monday, October 13.
A dark blue Mercedes-Benz bearing registration UBB 140R, driven by an unidentified adult male — described by witnesses as a person as a lawyer — struck two police officers attached to the court’s CT Technical unit and collided with the court gate.
The injured officers are PC Mariam Karaoke (No. 61861) and PC Nakagolo Rashida (No. 66708). Both sustained injuries in the collision and were rushed to Mukono General Hospital for treatment.
The driver, also injured, was among those taken for medical attention.
Mukono Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed the incident, saying police quickly responded to the scene, recorded witness statements and documented the event.
He said the vehicle has been impounded and is parked pending inspection by the IOV. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
In addition to personal injuries, the crash caused visible damage to the court’s main gate, the security detector machine and other property at the entrance.
Authorities are examining whether mechanical failure, driver error, or another factor led to the crash.
Police have appealed to anyone with further information or relevant footage from the area around the time of the incident to come forward and assist with the ongoing inquiries.
